Ghosts took it down a notch. Infinity Ward made the decsion to focus on tight-nit squad gameplay instead of making things bigger and bolder. Now, the multiplayer is more focused on infantry combat while explosions and killstreaks take a back seat. It didn't help that it was plagued by poor map design (seriously, fuck Chasm) and a lackluster co-op.
Does Call of Duty Ghost have co-op campaign? The campaign is more hit than miss, though the lack of co-op is disappointing, as is the downgrade from four player local to a mere two. Ghosts is an enjoyable experience, but it’s clear that the campaign and even Extinction mode, good as they may be, aren’t the focus of the series.

League play aswell was in black ops 2 but not in ghosts, and extinction was not as good as nazi zombies storylines from black ops 2. Ghosts is a really good game and arguably the game that required the best tactics in search and destroy. It just got released with expectations set high as hell.
